So we can't edit subscription plan prices?
Price field is grayed out, I can change the name only!
Seems like we have to create new plans if we need to change prices.
It is really counter-productive then to update all links on our website with new subscriptions, I'm not sure why it is not editable currently, please forward to the developers as this really makes using the system difficult, we can't even remove deactivated/not in use plans currently!
Hi @TxPlexMo. I was helping another seller a few weeks ago with similar issues. The upshot of that was that a number of feature requests were place to fix various issues with Subscriptions.
During that conversation that included some Square folks, it was revealed that Square is very aware of the shortcomings in the current implementation of Subscriptions and Plans. They are currently working on revamping it completely, including just allowing us to link to existing items and services, handle sales taxes the same way we do in our item library, make plan and subscription edits, etc.
Currently, there is no release date, nor has a beta test been announced. But I wouldn’t expect the new implementation to have so many limitations and be so hard to use. You should go to the Product Updates Board and subscribe to it so you are notified anytime Square releases major product updates. I’m told to expect this sometime in the second half of this year, if everything goes well.
Thank you!
Any updates? I have increased my prices however can not change them in the subscriptions. Can someone please advise on how or when we will be able to do this?
Hi @vitalrehab. I’m sorry for the delay. I was taking some personal time this weekend and am catching up on my posts here.
Square has rolled out a new and improved Subscriptions program. They announced it over a month ago. Here’s the link to the FAQ document on it. With it you can set up subscription plans that are linked to your item library, so changing plan details is much easier and more intuitive now. Your existing subscriptions will still be available in “legacy” mode. But if you are needing to change prices you’ll need to create a new plan using the new model and then switch existing customers over that that.
Check out the documentation in the link above, and let me know if you have any other questions.
