Hi @stefanyschade. I’m sorry to say that, currently, Square does not offer what I like to call “prompt/preferred payment discounts” for invoices. Since you want to only offer a discount at payment time — based upon how and when the customer pays — all I can suggest is this:
- Put a message on your invoice template specifying that discounts are available for x and y. Please call us.
- When the customer calls, edit their invoice to add the requested discount, and send them an updated invoice to use to pay.
- Have the customer pay from the latest invoice.
As a longer term solution, head over to the Feature Request board, and submit your request. You should put it on the Square Invoices board. Be specific about the fact that you can’t put the discount on the original invoice since you aren’t sure which, if either, will be used. Also, be specific about the manual steps you and your customer have to go through. It seems like a reasonable request to ask them to allow us to specify payment-time discounts that can be automatically applied to an invoice when the customer submits payment.
