I want my Square website and POS to have the same sale price.
If I put a sale price on the website it does reflect to my POS, so in this scenario I have to manually apply the in store discounts at point of sale which is tricky as real time ( e.g. its impossible to just take spontaneous £5 off an item at point of sale without it spreading across all items with multple VAT rates but thats another matter)
If I put a discount on the Dashbord and toggle on to apply to website it works well on POS but on the website only shows up as a label against the item thumbnail with the original price still showing. The actual sale price doesnt show up until the checkout process leaving my customers to manually work out the sale price when browsing which lets be honest many people just cant cope with.
If I maintain identical sale price and discounts on both Dashboard and Online that is an administrative nightmare.
I feel I must be missign something, surely its common for a shop with online website to want to sync sale prices. Have Square monumentally screwed up or is this a thing that works in US but not in UK?
Hi @LOG 👋 thanks for posting!
The sale price setting available in Square Online applies only to your Square Online site and does not sync across other Square platforms.
At the moment, we do not offer a sale function for in-person items. You would need to manually adjust the pricing for the item either at the point of sale or during checkout, or alternatively, apply a discount.
I hope this clarifies, but if not, please let me know.
Well I knew that Breffni which is why I posted the question to see what other people thought. This isnt an answer its corporate gloss. In fact its garbage is what it is and embarrassing that Square dont understand how retail works.
