Deleting an inventory item - Does it disappear in past reports?

I need to delete an item that I no longer sell, but I would like to be sure it will appear in reports from the time that I did sell it.  Will deleting the item from my Dashboard inventory remove it from reports for the date range where I was selling the product?

Hi @Seasons,

The item remains in the report even when deleted. 

Also, in my experience, when you rename an item, you appear to end up with 2 report items representing the correct stats for each item as it was named at the time - essentially it treats it like 2 different items.
