We recently moved to Square stand with iPad because Square for Restaurants+ isn't compatible. We saw the new Square stand and was excited to have a better customer-facing device than the old stand.
We received and installed the new stand and functionally it works great. Our problem is that it does not rotate as intended. The stand keep rotating past 180deg more like 220 or so. The unit Square sent me is defective and despite nearly a dozen emails to the "advanced support team" they fail to honor any sort of warranty. They see "nothing wrong" with what its doing. I dont know if the support team knows the difference between 180 degrees and 220, but our customers sure do when we swing the stand around and it keep going that they checkout screen is facing away from them. Its quite frankly embarrassing.
This is just a heads up for anyone else looking to buy one - if you happen to get a defective one you are out of luck because you will not be getting a replacement. I am now looking to buy another one and toss this one in the trash.
Are you sure it's connected to the counter correctly? It sounds like it wasn't screwed onto the piece that attaches to the counter entirely.
