ARE DISPUTES THAT ARE RESOLVED IN CUSTOMERS FAVOR DEDUCTED FROM THE SALES SUMMARY

Hi @PIPER213.  I went back a few years and found the only dispute I’ve ever had, which I lost since card companies always side with their customers.  Ha. Anyway, here’s what I found out:

  1. The disputed transaction was not removed from my sales summary for that day.  This is consistent with how Square handles things since they do not go back and change history after the fact.
  2. The disputed transaction did show that it had been disputed and refunded, along with a link to the dispute process notes.  But the deduction from my balance showed up on the day the refund was issued to the customer, since that is when it happened.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I've always wondered how that would be handled.  Thanks for the real-world example of what happens.  Luckily I haven't had any with Square in the time I've been here since they started.  I had one with a previous card processor maybe 20 years ago that actually was in my favor with a signed receipt.
