Changing Preferred Business Owner Name

Hi there,
I had an issue with my given/legal name Displayed as a service provider. I was told to make a new account from scratch, and I did that, changed my business name to Harry Davis, but my 'Preferred Business Owner Name" is still displaying Legal Name, which I don't go by. Is there anyway to get that changed without having to create another totally new account a third time? Or is there some kind of alternative where Harry Davis would be displayed as the service provider? I don't have employees, and and worry about tax/money logistics getting mixed up. To be honest, I really don't want to have to do this for a third time, and might consider possible other option, which would be disappointing, because I have really enjoyed my square experience.

Hey @HarryDavis

So a question for you just to make sure that I am understanding this correctly.  Your Legal name  is the one that is currently  listed as the owner, And the business name is the one that is listed as Harry Davis correct?

TBH, that section where it says "preferred" should not use that word, since Square is all bout dotting i's and crossing t's.  It should simply just state Business Owner name, regardless if multiple people have ownership of the business.

Your business name will be the name displayed on invoices, payments so on and so forth.  So as long as your legal name is in the business ownership field and the name you have registered as your business is the business name you shouldn't have any issues with tax.

I could be wrong, and maybe someone one else will chime in but I think you are all set.
