Change of Business

HI,

I have sold my original business.  I set up a new location on my dashboard as I am continuing to trade under a different name and from a different physical address with different bank accounts etc.  I have now deactivated my original business but when I went to register for a Square online shop it says "let's create a website for original business name".  Have I got it wrong?  How do I sort this out.  Thanks in advance.

Hey @mascot! Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community!

 

So, when you set up the new business, did you set it up with a new Square account, or did you keep using the Square account for your original business? 

 

If it is the latter, it's possible that your Square account is operating under the details of your original business. When you sign up to Square, we ask you some questions about your business that are permanently associated with said account, and these are not changeable. Usually, we recommend our customers create a separate Square account if they have multiple unrelated businesses so that you can operate under the correct business details. 

 

If it is the former, can you send a screenshot of what is appearing on the screen? I may need to investigate this further on my end if this is the case.

Thanks for your reply.  I sold my previous business with the business name so It looks like I need to open a new account.  I'll do that now.
