Cash Drawer & Switching Ipads

Is the cash drawer directly linked to a specific ipad?  So what happens if Ipad #1 dies in the middle of a shift and I have to move to Ipad #2? Do I need to close my first drawer and open a second drawer?  Thanks

What kind of Cash Drawer are you using - printer-driven, USB, or another type? 

You would have to set up the cash drawer on each device, so it can be recognized when it's connected.
