Hi, we have a square terminal with the receipt printer inbuilt. Until thursday last week we were able to open a cash draw and then close the cash draw. Now this option has disappeared, when i go to add ons for cash management it says its activated but now says not compatible with device. I dont understand how it can be working for years and then suddenly stop. Any help much appreciated.
Hi @CHECommunityCaf, sorry to hear you're running into this and thanks for raising it on the Community.
It does sound strange that it suddenly disconnected, it could be that a recent software update caused a disconnect, it's hard to know.
Can I confirm first of all which brand and model of cash drawer you are using?
Have you tried reconnecting cash drawer all together? It might be worth disconnecting everything and then resetting your configuration.
Tap More on the navigation bar of the Square Terminal
Tap Settings > Cash Management > toggle the switch next to Cash Management off/on.
Enter your default starting cash amount and select your report delivery preferences.
Let me know if this helps, if not we might look at factory resetting the Terminal.
