There’s a few issues with this video. An order was put together and a 25% discount was added to the order. The automatic discounts, in cascading order, were removed from the ticket and the ticket was then saved. The Saved ticket was then brought back up and it has the automatically assigned discounts back on it again.
Removing cascading discounts is such a pain - if I remove one automatic discount, I don’t want another automatic discount applied, and then another and then another.
The ticket was created so that a customer could show up later to pick up and pay for the order and when the employee would open up the ticket and be able to process the payment without having to do anything. Instead, the ticket automatically re-adds the discounts without the employee knowing about it and that's a big opportunity for a customer to get a significantly higher discount on their product than they should get.
I agree we had this issue for our Black Friday sale. I created Discounts at the last minute so they would not be applied the day before etc. When I rang up a test order I had to delete the Old discount that was not to be applied since the Black Friday one was to be applied. I turned off our Regular discount which gave a reduced price for 2 and 3 jars, and the black friday was to give a free jar after X many ( I think 5 jars at full price). So when people brought up 6 jars they would pay for 5 and get one for free so leave with 6. What happened was every 2 was getting discounted PLUS one would be free. So I had to delete our regular 2 for deal and 3 for deals which it would do 2 for on jars 1 and 2 2 for on jars 3 and 4 etc but then it would think oh wait I will apply discount to Jar 1 and 3 since I cant to 1+2..... I finally deleted my daily Deal discount to fix it.
Like you said Once I turned off the Daily Discount ONCE in the transaction I did not want it on again!!
