That sounds odd, all Square merchants have a per transaction limit of €25,000, so there shouldn't be a problem accepting a €600 payment by inserting the card.
Is your Square account new? It would be good to confirm you have a linked and verified bank account, and if you could also share the error message that you are receiving when the payments are rejected, I would be able to look into this further.
