Cant connect

My card reader when i try to connect it says up date pos iv removed the app and reinstalled but still the same i even got a new reader but still no luck help

Hi @Davidalbin, sorry to hear you are running into this issue! 

 

First thing, it's worth running through these troubleshooting steps and see if they would help. They usually help resolve any underlying connection issue.

 

If you've ran through all of them and are still getting the same error message, can you let me know:

  • The phone or tablet you are using with the Square Reader
  • The operating system version on your phone/tablet
  • A screenshot of the error message you're getting

That way, I'll be able to look into this further on my end.

Thanks for letting me know @Davidalbin! There's actually a known issue connecting the Square Card Reader to the iOS 14.5 at the moment. Our team are working to resolve this before iOS 14.5 is out of beta.

 

While the team work to make sure that the issue doesn't happen when the iOS is released, for now, they've asked sellers on the iOS 14.5 to uninstall the beta software and switch back to using iOS 14.4 which will connect. You can find more information on how to uninstall iOS beta software here

 

Alternatively, if you have another compatible device that's running in an older iOS version (not iOS 14.5), you can try to connect the reader to it as well.
