Hi Folks,
I have today been unable to use my Square card reader with the above phone.
I had an A14 previously, no problems at all.......is this new phone in compatible with my reader?
I have tried every permutation of remedy suggested by Square and anyone else, but no connection via Bluetooth, but can use the Square app with NFC on phone.
I need really to be able to use the reader.
Anyone have any ideas or a solution.
Thank you for reading.

Hi @Greenman1, thanks for posting ๐.
I looked up the Samsung A15 5G, and it is not on the list of compatible devices with Square. It's currenly untested and we canโt guarantee compatibility with the Square Reader. The Samsung A14 is on the list though, which is why you were able to pair your phone with the Reader successfully.
When you say you can use the Square app with NFC, do you mean you can take Tap to Pay payments ? Note that the Square app will also run on most Android devices with the following:
Let me know if you have any questions.

I got a new Square card reader with warranty claim then got Square card reader to connect to Samsung Galaxy A15:
- let Square card reader stop having 4 orange dots flashing (wait about 5 mins)
- in Samsung, go to settings | Bluetooth
- power up Square card reader till 4 orange dots flash
- in Bluetooth area, pair once, pair twice (two requests)
- wait for updates of Square card reader
- attempt payment using Square card reader and Samsung Square app
- payment works
It is tricky to pair the Square card reader to Samsung Galaxy A15. In Square app there is spinning wheel and no pairing. In Bluetooth it is possible to pair but only if Square is powered up with orange dots from scratch not while it is flashing orange dots.
If you get a hand held terminal, you won't have to worry about compatibility, since the phone is no longer an issue. You can also provide a receipt to your customers. I got tired of checking whether my phones were compatible and even if they were, had an experience after a few years where a software upgrade messed up compatibility. It happened at an event and made life difficult. Always have a back up.
