Can a Nonprofit Use a Square POS terminal

Hi,

We want a POS terminal with chip and tap capabilities. Can my nonprofit buy/use a square POS terminal? Chase (our bank) would not sell us a terminal system. They would only sell us a card reader. Chase claimed that because their terminals use the quickpay system that nonprofits were not eligible to use the terminals. If I buy a square terminal, I want to make sure I can use it. We don't want to use the card readers, associated with smartphones, anymore. Thanks.

Hi there, @Xthought,

Thank you for reaching out and for considering a POS upgrade for your nonprofit, that’s a great move. I’m happy to walk you through how things work with Square so you can feel confident about what you’re purchasing and how it will serve your needs. Yes, a nonprofit can use Square and a full POS terminal with chip and tap capabilities. Nonprofits are eligible to use our services: for example, you can use Square for your organization to collect payments/donations in‑person, including using terminals or readers.
