Can I gift eGift Cards?

I don't want to have to use plastic gift cards. My business is a vintage and sustainable fashion shop after all.

I have eGift cards switched on, but I want to know if there is a way for me to provide these cards for free to my customers. This is for a potential future promotion that we are looking at doing.

In your case, the best way to do this would be to apply a discount equalling the amount of the gift card. 

If you intend on giving away gift cards with different amounts, I'd recommend setting up a discount of 100% to save you from creating different discounts. These gift cards would still need to be processed as a sale, either in person or online.

When processing in person, you can record the payment as Other Payment Types to add a note to the sale. You'll find more information about creating and managing discounts on our Support Center.

Alternatively, you can provide your customers with a voucher code that they can apply at checkout when purchasing the gift card on your website. 

Note that the ability to create vouchers to use with your Square Online website is moving to Square Marketing. However, this remains a free feature.  Our article Vouchers for Square Online gives more details about the steps.

There is one other thing that has just popped up.

I take it there is no way to allow the gift card to be redeemed on only one of my websites?

This should definitely be an option.

When a customer opens the gift card and clicks 'Shop Online' my three websites come up but I only want that link to go to my main site.

Could you provide your websites URLs? Are they hosted on Square Online or do you use another provider?
