I had an employee ring up a sale last week that the customer left a generous tip on, however, all of the work was done by an employee that had already left for the day. Is there a way to change the name of the employee on the sale to the employee who did the work?
Hi @MrsK. Once a transaction has been closed, it can not be changed (except for adding an extra gratuity in Square for Restaurants). You are not the first person to ask for this capability, nor will you be the last. I am one of those people. If I were a betting man, I would say that this restriction will never change.
Anyway, for now, all you can do is run a report of the erroneously closed transactions and make manual changes to the tips before you submit payroll. And, of course, in the future remember that checks should always be closed by the person who should get the credit. If needed, you (or someone) can log in as that employee, close the transaction, then log out.
