We recently started experiencing a bug in the Square dashboard. When adding a variable-priced item that is configured as non-taxable to an invoice, Square is applying the sales tax anyway. We then have to go back into the line item and uncheck the sales tax checkbox, even though it was unchecked in the first place. This short video shows what I'm talking about (you can actually see the unchecked checkbox get automatically checked when the Save button is pressed):
It does not happen with fixed-price, non-taxable items but is happening with all variable-price, non-taxable items.
Square - please fix! 🙂
Hello @cbstl - Our engineers have confirmed that a fix has been implemented. All taxes are now deselected by default and will only be applied if manually selected. I appreciate your patience while this was resolved 🙏
