We are a development company looking to produce an app that extends Square's default interface and functionality. In general, we want to:
- Create a custom customer-facing interface
- Possibly add some custom backend UI components
- Ensure data integration between our custom interface/components and the base platform
To be clear: We are not seeking platform integration with our own existing, separate product or service. Instead, our aim is to develop a brand-new, custom enhancement to Square's native interface/functionality.
Given these very general goals, we then want to sell the resulting application in Square's app marketplace.
What would be the best way to get started? I assume there is some app development, review, and sales process or protocol that we need to follow, and we'd welcome any tips and/or references to corresponding resources.
