Hello Squares, how are you?
I'd appreciate opinions please... I am a Murder Mystery Host, considering offering online bookings.
I'm not sure which Square service would be best; perhaps you can help.
For an idea of what I do, visit my website murdermaster.com.au.
Thanks for your help people.
Regards,
B
Hey @bryancutts,
Thanks for reaching out!
You could potentially use any of the above here, depending on exactly what you're looking to do.
Square Appointments is more traditionally used for individual one on one bookings, eg a haircut. You could also use this to book your Murder Mystery events though, provided the booking scenario is one person booking for a group. This could be done on an Appointments website by the customer, or could be manually entered in to the appointments system by yourself. You can also take a payment via the Appointments app in person or remote. Keep in mind Appointments isn't able to book multiple people for a single session. Group bookings with Appointments is a feature we're currently tracking, but I don't have an ETA on if or when it may be available.
A Square Online website could be used to sell bookings or tickets to a session, advertise your business, feature a contact form etc. The potential downside to Online Store is that it doesn't presently feature the ability to track a calendar of bookings in the way Appointments can if this is something you were looking to do.
Meanwhile, Square's Point of Sale app can be used to accept a payment in person via the card reader, or over the phone by manually keying in card details. You might use this in the event that you arranged a booking outside of Square Appointments or Online and just need to take a payment from a customer.
Hope this helps you get a general idea of things, please let me know if you have any follow up questions 🙂
