App crashes and restarts when paying invoices

We have square installed on a Galaxy Tab A (not sure which version of Android, but I can look it up). Starting about around September or October 2022, we've run into issues where trying to pay invoices from the tablet will cause the app to crash. As a workaround we can mark invoices as paid online, but then the money in the cash drawer report is wrong. It is also difficult to quickly switch between apps on the tablet, and lines tend to get long. The issue occurs regardless of payment type. The app always seems to crash when registering the payment, but only when paying invoices. We can select items from the menu and take cash, check, credit card just fine.

 

Have there been any changes to the invoice payment system that would cause this to happen?

 

Troubleshooting steps:

* Delete and reinstall square app

* Ensure that Android SW is up-to-date

 

Setup:

We have different users setup on the tablet. Each user has square installed and setup as a different location. All users and locations have the same issue.

So this is happening on our square POS with square version 5.29.0062 NTEP CC19-065A2.. And our Galaxy tab A model smt-t510 with android version 11 kernel 4.4177-2262479 build RP1A2007200.012.T510XXU5CVG2 square version 6.0

So you have two devices this is happening on? One is Galaxy Tab A and the other is what. Which Square Point of Sale device are you using?

We are not seeing this as a known issue right now. this definitely sounds like a glitch and bizarre this is happening on two different devices. We should have our engineers take a further look into this.
