Adding multiples of one item in checkout

Hello. I sell buttons and items by the metre. Is there any way to do this on the checkout page? Say 25 x 30p ?

Hi @Buttonsgill when you create an item you can create a custom unit eg button or metre, then add a unit price, then at checkout you can up the quantity 1,2,3,4 m of ribbon at checkout.

Hi,

thank you ! But what if it was Manual entry? I’m not going to add any buttons to the inventory so it would just be manually entered to the register! Thanks.

Hi @Buttonsgill

You don't have to track inventory and it will still work or use track by availability not stock count ie available or out of stock. So create the item as mentioned above and under manage inventory track by availability or even do not track at all. You can still manually enter items at the register.

Thank you. I may not be understanding you correctly, but I have over 3000 different buttons. I’m not going anywhere near them with Square. But I can see what you might mean. I’m just not sure it could work without entering it at all on to square. I’ll have a play. Thank you

It is possible to set up a generic item, ribbon with the same price, where stock is not track (or you can track) where you can enter a quantity say 1m, up it to 2 three 4 etc similar for buttons during checkout. Not sure what hardware you have on your end but this will be visible when you to manually add your to your order on your Register for example.

I have no doubt you can do what you are hoping to do. Have a play to see if you can get it to work, let me know if there functional part you need I can help point you in the right direction.

@Buttonsgill if the item is entered into a square, register inventory, whether tracked by the number of units or not, you can just select the number of units when you sell them.

if the item is not in Square at all, then I’m not sure I understand your question. However, in my case, I have a generic button/item called “Special Offer”. It is a non-tracked inventory item that when I selected on the sales register. It passed me the selling price, and I can put in whatever I want. Again same as the other method I then can select the number of units that I’m selling.
