Solved: Accepting euros with my UK location

Hi Guys,

I am new here and my location is (United Kingdom). During the test phase I was only allowed to test payments in GBP (Pounds). My question is, going live (production) will I only accept payments from UK based customers on my website? Can they use their euro credit/debit cards and behind the scenes the conversion takes place? Say they have to pay 30 Euros for the product, can they pay with their card the 30 euros and I get the conversion or I always need to keep updating the prices in euros based on a particular exchange rate? And if so, those square have an exchange rate API?

Hey @ajsantos - you can take payments from both UK and non UK cards on your site. They’ll all be charged in GBP so any rate conversions will be on the customers banking end (ie. You charge them £30 and their bank does the conversion to Euro/USD etc.).

The rates are different for UK and non UK issued cards - not a lot in it, but here’s a link to all the rates chip/tap and online.
