A question about categories!

2 questions actually:

 

If I change the name of a category, will it retrospectively change the name in all my reporting before the name change was made?

 

What about changing the name of an item?

 

Will it retrospectively change the reporting to take into account the name change?  Or will it become a 'new category' or 'new item' in reports with a clean slate?

How do I easily delete categories with no items assigned to them?

Hi @TGPH, thanks for your post!

 

When you change the name of the category or an item, the change won't apply retrospectively to your reporting. It'll only apply to future reports and won't be link to historical data.

 

To delete a category, you can easily do so from your Square Dashboard > Items > Categories.
