using Square Online when the POS/ticket printers are powered off

So, O have an interesting use case.  I want to enable an online site for a day where we park our food truck at manufacturing companies.  We want them to PRE order the night before on the website, but the truck/POS is powered down over night.

If an order came into the online site but the POS/Printers are offline...will they download/print them the next day when we park and power up in their parking lot?  Can they be "forced" to print and be sent to the KDS the next day?  These plants have very tight break windows and if people can "pre" order the night before we can prep based on their break time.  Collecting that info is a separate problem I need to solve with Square online.

I can test this but maybe someone knows...

My other option is to build my own basic form that we enter by hand like a phone order ticket when we get parked which is fine too...just some manual work.  I also have to see if Online offers an ORDER but PAY in person option or not.  Mostly the ticket printing is the first hurdle anyhow.

@CColotti ;

First let me say this I have no idea how the online/off line would work for you.  But I may have an Idea for you.

Leave the printers on Just in case, get all the orders.  Then 1st thing in the morning download your Transactions from the orders for the company, or all transaction.

Now you have the orders as a csv file.

Sort the CSV file buy delivery time Low to High..... ie 11 am before 1pm.

Then you can see which ones In order need to be ready by Delivery time .

My thinking is even if the Printer is offline over night you should still be able to get the orders, but just not have a printed copy.  The other issue you mentioned of when the Printer online is will they all print in the morning, that I do not know either.

I am not sure what type of setup your running that is connected to your printer, but if you have it that it can connect to a computer, you might be able to do a Mail Merge with the Downloaded CSV file of your transactions (Details or Items not sure which) to print out a 'copy' of the order.  You can use google Docs or MicroSoft Word to make a mail merge type file to print out to use the fields from a csv file.  Just set the paper size to the size of your receipt printer, The length is where it gets confusing since the receipt paper does not end till its empty.

Trying to come up with ideas for you to try.

I am referring to the Kitchen Ticket Printer and the KDS specifically.  Being a food truck leaving things powered on overnight is the issue.  I think I can test this just buy power the KDS/Kitchen printer off.  The issue isn't downloading the CSV it's getting it sent into the KDS and Kitchen printer in the AM.  The CSV won't help with the order manamagment that is why we have the KDS and ticket printers.  This isn't retail orders, it's restaurant orders so having them on the ticket station and KDS is paramount.
