set optimal stock/inventory amounts for easy ordering by staff?

Is there a way to set optimal stock amounts on my items? I can set a "low stock alert" which is very helpful, but if I could set a low stock amount AND an "optimal stock number" I could actually hand off lots of my ordering duties to staff. For example:

Item A has a low stock alert at 5. My optimal stock has been set at 12, so my employee knows to order 7 from the vendor to meet that.

Anyone have a workaround or a setting they have found?

Currently, there isn't a feature or this unfortunately. I'm not aware of a workaround but hopefully other sellers can chime in with their ideas.

I've been searching for how to do this as well. This seems like a pretty basic component of a retail management application, and I couldn't understand why it was hard to find. So, your saying we cannot set a stock level for an item? Like, we want to have 6 bars of soap on the shelf, so at 2 we (or the App with it's automatic purchase orders) would add 4 to an order? Where does the Automatic Purchase Orders function get it's order quantities from?

@MMSS ;

The only way to do this as a Work Around, would be to export your Catalog Daily at the sametime.  Then use a Spreedsheet that looks at the QTY on hand column, and the Minimum Alert Quantity number and using Power Query write something that you want an Optimal Quantity for this Soap, that Scent Soap.  You could even have it create sheets that only list the items that are between your minimal and Optimal ranges.  Again this is out of Square using Squares Catalog CSV file.    Once you have the Power Query Setup to pull data from Catalog .csv from folder Square for example all you would need to do is delete yesterdays Catalog.csv, and put in the new downloaded one, click Refresh in Power Query, and within a few minutes have a new Sheet that could be formated as a CSV for a Purchase order to be imported to Square if you like.    Using formating rules you could even have the rows colored as Yellow, Orange, and Red for which items need 1 or 2 or ones that you only have 1 item remainig etc.
