inventory retail

When entering retail inventory - and items with sizes and colors - like t-shirt ... Do you track each size/color/brand as an individual item? I am trying to set up my store - but this seems daunting so kinds curious how others are doing it?

Looping in @RHatch here because I think they use Square for Retail and might be able to answer this better.

Any ideas?
