1. One quick fix is to try unplugging and plugging everything back up and restart the ipad. Making sure something didn't wiggle loose can happen and I have had an ipad update make everything look off but need a hard restart.
2. Is there power to the printer? (Lights On) You can plug another usb device into the printer to double check the problem is the usb hub.
3. Wiggle the cords around. I have had a short happen in the usb hub before that sometimes a little wiggle may fix at least until you can diagnose further. You can use a lightning to usb cord (like the charging cord) to see if the usb hub is recognized.
