If a customer buys an e gift card, why doesn't the owner receive an email with a confirmation that a eogift card has been purchased with the details?

When an e-gift card is purchased, an email is automatically sent to the recipient of the gift card, and the person sending them the gift card receives a confirmation email for their purchase. The redemption code is only shared with the recipient of the card - just like when you purchase a physical gift card for someone and don't receive a duplicate with the card numbers to keep for yourself. However, in the event that an e-gift card needs to be re-sent, you can do so from your end easily:
1. In your Dashboard go to > Gift Cards > Overview.
2. From the Overview screen, search for the eGift Card sale by selecting a time frame from the date range selector. If you have it, you can also enter the last four digits of the e-gift card.
3. Select the transaction > click Resend.
4. Enter the email address you'd like to send it to (this can be any email address the customer provides) > click Resend.

I've had clients loose their gift card and there has been no way to look up their 16digit number again so i've got cards with balances that no longer exist. An email confirmation with recipient details and voucher number would be ideal!
