Stacking Discounts MUST GO!

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF DISABLING STACKING DISCOUNTS? 

 

As it works now, if I have an automatic discount on items in my shop and then we apply an employee discount or ANY other manual discount, BOTH discounts will apply instead of the larger discount overriding the smaller discount.

 

Example 1: All wine 10% off! (Automatic Discount) but then an employee buys a bottle of wine with their 35% employee discount. They receive 10% off PLUS ANOTHER 35% off.

 

Example 2: All wine 10% off! (Automatic Discount) but then a customer who dines in our restaurant gets another 10% off for shopping in our store. They receive 10% off PLUS ANOTHER 10% off.

 

Unless we manually edit dozens of items in a transaction to remove the double discount, we are practically giving merchandise away.

 

STACKING DISCOUNTS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT BUSINESSES CAN TURN ON OR OFF. I can't imagine why any business would EVER want multiple discounts applied to something. But if someone does, great. Just let it be something we can turn off.

Hello, Checking to see what progress has been made on this issue. We have to manually remove the discounts that stack and doing that is very time consuming and not always remembered by busy staffers.  We are losing money because of these stacking discounts, and as a commenter on a different thread on this same issue said, so is Square! 

 

I have this same issue. Is there a way to stop stacking loyalty awards and discounts on the same item, please? If not, is there a timeline for when this will be implemented?
