Square for Retail is no longer printing order tickets after latest iOS update.

The Square for Retail app was just updated to v6.73w three days ago.  Ever since, I can no longer print online merchandise order tickets.

I've tried reporting this problem to Square Customer Support, only to spend 1 hour and 15 minutes being transferred from Retail to Restaurants, back to Retail over to Online, back to Retail over to Restaurants for a second time, back to Retail, after which I got fed up and demanded to speak to a supervisor.  After a further 10 minutes on hold, I was disconnected.

I know it's not a hardware issue. I can still go to Settings > Hardware > Printers > Print Test Page and everything works fine.

But when I go to Orders > Print Order, I get a pop-up saying that the Order is printing, but nothing actually gets sent to the printer.

It's obviously an iOS programming error with this latest update.  Everything was working fine last week. It seems nobody at Square wants to accept any ownership for solving the problem. They rather pass you from department to department.

My opinion of Square customer support has hit rock bottom.  I've never encountered so many so-called support agents who were so busy staying in their rigidly structured silos that they couldn't see the forest for the trees. None of them seemed the least bit interested in actually solving the problem.  Just passing the buck.

@Alan01 It is interesting to see this report. I am sorry I didn't see it initially. I have been struggling with this issue for a 3 weeks or so, however on my Register. I raised to to Support, however as expected, it was a complete waste of time and energy and nothing was resolved.

 

At some point the problem mutated from being only a printing issue to being an issue whereby all incoming orders were being rejected, but then, as magically as it started, the problem (both problems) seems to have, as far as I can tell, gone away. 

 

After almost 2 years as a Square customer, like you, I have absolutely zero expectations from Square support. My experiences with them have been shockingly bad, which is why for many months now, I just seek workarounds to issues found rather than raising tickets, feature requests or bug reports. In this specific case, as it was a more urgent/business affecting issue, I went against my better judgement to raise the case, but, it was pointless.
