Square calculating tip totals wrong

I tried calling support for this issue but was transferred to SEVEN different people (I am not exaggerating), hung up on twice, only had one person even understand my problem, and finally gave up when the 7th person couldn't even find my account (but the 6 people before could find it? ....make it make sense....)

Because square is an absolutely awful garbage system and lacks basic features like tip pool splitting based on hours worked and tip out percentages (even though users have been asking for this feature FOR LITERAL YEARS based on all the reading I just did in this community forum), I am forced to use an excel spreadsheet to split tips amongst my employees that calculates 80% to FOH and 20% to BOH - all pooled based on tips collected during each shift and hours worked by each employee. Mind you.... building this spreadsheet took me about an hour (I was a little rusty with excel) so one would think any slightly seasoned coder should be able to add this feature quite easily....

Side note: We do not use Square payroll - we use our own bank to cut paychecks and at this point I wouldn't trust Square to not royally screw things up so I'll never use Square payroll. ANYWAY *takes a deep breath to try to calm down*

At the end of a pay period, I have to input each days total tip amount collected and hours worked for each day so that I can add each employee's tips to their paycheck for a 2 week period.  One way I have tried to check my math and ensure there are no human errors in entering either an employee's hours or tips collected is to run a labor & tips report under Shifts for the pay period.  Here's where it gets spicy...

I'll use a basic example to try to make it make sense: December 1st, total tips collected: $400.  December 2nd, total tips collected: $600. Ok. So now I run a labor & tips report for both days.  December 1st-2nd, Square will report total tips collected: $890 (some random arbitrary number that doesn't make sense no matter how you spin it). See the BASIC ARITHMETIC INACCURACIES HERE?! So now I'm left wondering... which number is correct? Are any of these numbers correct? Where is that $110 dollars? What is actually going on here?  And if I do this for an entire pay period, the inaccuracies are all over the place.  Sometimes it's in the favor of the restaurant, sometimes in the favor of Square  - it's completely arbitrary and nonsensical.

Even spicier still: if I go into Reports and run a Sales Summary, that total tip number is sometimes different than the tips reported in the Labor & Tips report.

So.  What am I to do?! I don't know which number to trust. And I certainly don't have the time to go through and total out each days tips and add them up manually to find where Squares continues to make errors.

At this point, I'm just ranting. Because I don't expect any kind of response that is worthwhile. I'm hoping to convince the owner to leave Square. This bar manager is OVER IT. We just broke a million in sales for 2022, which was only our second year open in a restaurant with only 7 tables during the week and 13 tables on  weekends. So you'd think Sqaure would want to fix their trash to keep us around. But whatever. Good talk y'all.

Yikes, I feel for you! Tips are a nightmare for us, too. We do a simple tip pool percentage and have to whip out excel as well, ugh. Hopefully your comment gets enough traction and Square gets this figured out. Fingers crossed!
