We use multiple handheld Square terminals at the restaurant.  We have indoor and outdoor seating.  We have had a few leave without paying when seated outside.  How do I start an order and get their credit card info so if they leave I can just press pay?

I read that page already.  I need a tutorial of how the open check feature actually works because none of us can figure it out.

Is there a particular part of the process you are having issues with?

The article linked above includes step-by-step instructions on how to create Open Tickets, edit, split or transfer them. We also have a section for closing and printing Order Tickets.
