Some of my prices are $0 unless I add a sale price.

I'm selling about 10 items for an event, and about half of the prices are showing up as I entered them, but half of them aren't. For example, if I enter $25 as the price and have the sale price blank, the items shows up as $0 on the website. Then, if I enter the same number as the sale price, it shows up as that sale price, but with an unwanted "sale" banner over the item. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?
