Serialized inventory

In my business, I have to keep track of serial numbers. With square, I have to do that outside of this system on an excel spreadsheet. When will adding an option for serial numbers be available? That would be so much easier than what I am doing now.

Right now, I don’t see anything planned for adding serial numbers, but I did share your feedback with our Retail team to get their thoughts. In the meantime, I’d recommend posting this on our Ideate Board so it can be tracked and supported by other sellers too.

For now, do you think using SKUs or item descriptions could be a helpful workaround?

Thanks for waiting while I followed up. I escalated this feedback to our Retail Team, and they confirmed that there are currently no plans to implement serial numbers. There are some integrations with Yellowdog, Thrive, and Finale that could potentially help with serial tracking, but they will not fully track specific or unique items sold on Square. For now, the best workaround is to use the notes section of the item cart.
