I've been having this same issue ever since I switched to square register. Can't search by scanning the bar code on the receipt or by item name. So frustrating. Used a square stand before and it worked fine on that

When you try to scan the receipt, are you getting any error message or anything, or it just not allowing you to scan it?
Just to make sure I have all the information down as well, you are unable to find the item by item name either?

Is there any follow up to this topic?
Prior to switching to Square Register, I had the ability to search Transactions by an item name. My staff and I specifically write things in the "item note" field for future reference. Now with the new square register there's no search ability (except apparently by customer name or receipt #). This is a major inconvenience. As a customer of Square should I not expect the same (or better) functionality when I make an upgrade ? If anyone has any advice on this or work-around ideas, I'm all ears(eyes)!
