Sales for Resale

I am new to SQUARE and most of our sales are for retail where we charge and collect sales tax.  But there are a handful of customers that purchase from us and resell the products to their clients.  Those customers we maintain a resale certificate on file.  For those that are on SQUARE since there is no built in feature for the tracking and management of Resale, how do you manage so you can report to the Sales Tax administration and be able to recall those orders and whom sold to if required or requested.

How do you charge your resellers?  Do they pick up and pay in store or do you invoice them?  What I have done is Create the customer and enter their Resellers Liscense information in Square with the customers information.  I put the code in the notes section.  Then when a rax exempt customer comes in, I add them to the sale, so I can see what they bought and see there was no sales tax on the Items or items.  Then if someone want to see Why Retail Shop XYZ did not pay tax I can pull up all the sales made to XYZ and look in the Customers data base and see their Exemption Liscense number.  I also have then fill out a form that has there name, address, phone number, Business Name and Liscense number on it that I save as a PDF on a computer we use for shipping and mailing labels.  

Then at the time of Sale I just slide the Tax to off.  Most of my Resale customers pick up and Pay at the time they get their items.  I do not invoice customers so I do not know the procedures for that.

They pay at the time of purchase and take the items with them. We do not invoice them.

This should work for you then as long as you remember to slide off Sales tax at the time they purchase.

When they come in ring up the sale like normal.  Click Add Customer.... search for their Name in your system or add them into your system.   In the Notes section enter their Resale lisc number.  So it is always easy to get, and it is with their contact information.  I went the extra step and had a Form printed out that I can email people to update this in Square and Save.  This way I can create their Square account before they make a purchase.
