I normally operate in Oregon and we don't have a sales tax. I'm adding a new location across the river in Washington this summer so I'll have to collect their sales tax. For those of you who are in a similar situation, how did you set up your Square account to accommodate in-person tax/no-tax transactions?
Each Location that you create in your Square Account can have different settings for Sales Tax.
Under Account & Settings -> My Business -> Locations
Set up the new location.
And then under
Account & Settings -> Payments -> Sales Tax
Create your sales tax settings for each location.
It is best to do this logged into the dashboard on your computer in the browser.
