I have been searching high and low for an answer to a basic "advanced inventory management" package for PURCHASE ORDERS, not for sales tax.
I entered my first purchase order to start filling in my inventory. As I got to the bottom of the order, there is only one tax (GST) calculated.
All of these BASIC, IMPORTANT (yes, I am marking these words as important...) data NEED to be entered if I am to use an "advance inventory management" tool.
I don't want a "workaround" or "calculate the taxes of your thousands of items and include them in the cost" or "charge extra shipping", kinda (stupid) way to run a business! how can this be practical "save time and be more profitable using Square"...
Is this inventory management software or not? This is why I pay $131 a month (!) for this program, so that at the end of the year my GST and PST taxes are in each of their "accounts" so that I can easily manage my end of year tax return with my accountant.
Same for shipping - I have a different account for that too, so that "account" should have compiled all the year's shipping from my purchase orders.
And the total order amount discount I receive from my supplier should be spread over the entire order or to the total order. Give me a place to enter my discount and have it be applied to the order!
My purchase order should match EXACTLY what I have purchased, the amounts, taxes, shipping and discounts.
I have seen a couple of posts about this since many years - and is it possible that it has not yet been settled as of June 2022?
I bought the whole Square For Retail setup in January, now just started using it - and I find out these major flaws... I am already researching another supplier.
Too bad because I love my Square POS, but the software? These are major flaws (and I am not going into the rest of the program, just this Purchase Order section!)

We appreciate you bringing our attention to some very key features missing from Square Retail Purchase Orders.
We have reached out to our Product Team. And did get confirmation there are no plans to update the purchase order interface this year. I know this super disappointing. And if I was paying $131 a month I would be just mad.
Square Retail is a fairly newer subscription. So there still is a lot that can be added and updated to make retail more robust. While it might not seem like it, I have been with Square for a few years and have seen requests from sellers come to fruition ( importing purchase orders and stock conversion) because of feedback like this. In the meantime we completely understand you need to do what is best for your business, and right now Square is not it.

Any chance there is an update or a workaround to adding a Vendor Discount to a Purchase Order?? I don't understand how to reconcile my Purchase Orders and vendor Invoices??
