Printing orders problems - Can you determine current "how to" articles from out of date ones?

The ongoing changes to the POS and settings have changed the way orders are printed at the POS.  We previously had orders print immediately so our team could remove stock from shelves as quickly as possible.  During the week this stopped and now the POS requires a touch on the screen to print dockets.

This help file https://squareup.com/help/au/en/article/7601-print-order-tickets-with-square-for-retail is simply wrong and from reading it, I think it has been out of date for a year.  Other help files are similarly wrong but there is little or no obvious version control or management.

How do we:

1. get orders to print immediately

2. understand square version control

Thanks for reaching out @mhweft! Really sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing here.

I’d love to take a closer look at this with you. Could you please provide the following information when you have a moment?

The Support Centre article outlines steps specific to the Square Retail POS App for iPads and iPhones running iOS 15 or later.

  • Could you please confirm your device model and iOS software version?

I’m able to follow the information in the article on my iOS device (accessing the printer settings from More > Settings > Hardware > Printers and enabling In-Person Order Tickets) to print orders automatically.

  • Could you please confirm the steps you're taking to access these settings on your device?
  • Additionally, can you specify which extra step is required on your screen to print receipts? Is there a specific message that appears on the screen?
  • Please feel free to send any photos, videos, or screenshots of the printer settings and the checkout screen prompt you’re seeing on your end.

I'll keep an eye out for your reply. 🙂
