Order tickets not printing automatically after checkout

We are running Square for Restaurants version 6.62.1 on 9th generation ipads running iOS 18.3.1 (the latest versions currently available). As of this past weekend, in person orders will no longer print automatically after checkout. We can hit "Send" and the order will print, and then we can go back into the check and complete payment, but this is not our usual workflow as a high volume restaurant. Alternatively, we can process payment and then view the closed check and "reprint" tickets, but again this is not our normal workflow and is cumbersome. 

 

Our printer profiles are set to print in-person order tickets, which is described in the profile option as: "Use order tickets to send orders to prep stations. Order tickets will print automatically after checkout." They are not printing automatically.

 

Order tickets are printing automatically on our Square Registers, this seems isolated to iPads. 

 

This same issue is happening across multiple locations. I have reached out to @support but wanted to find out if other users are also experiencing this change in functionality.

I appreciate you sharing these details! Since this issue seems isolated to iPads, can you check if the printer profile is set up the same way across all devices? Printer profiles need to be configured individually on each iPad, so it’s worth verifying that they match the settings on your Square Registers, where tickets are printing as expected.

 

Also, are all affected iPads connected to the same network as the printer? Have you noticed any pattern—such as certain order types or locations—where this happens more frequently?

This was identified as a software glitch and fixed by engineering.

How did they fix it? We are having the same problem on our Ipad check-out. Do I have to contact to get the update?
