Low Stock Alerts by SKU

I am wondering if there is a way to get low stock alerts to include the SKU? Also, can they be batched by vendor? Thanks!

Hi @Wild! Thanks for reaching out! Right now, this is currently a feature request. Low stock alerts cannot be edited, but I definitely understand how this could be really useful for sellers with SKU based inventories. One thing you can do in the meantime is filter your items by low stock on the Square Dashboard, which will also display the SKU for you. I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but it should get you closer to where you wanted to be.

Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

Any updates on this?  This is exactly the issue I jumped on here to solve.  We have roughly 5000 items now and just tried using the low stock alerts again, and I am quickly giving up.  It's just a mess of titles that mean nothing.  The SKU, and Quantity would be the most valuable.  Sorting by Vendor would get me to switch over to a Square for Retail subscription for sure.  As it is right now we are thinking of abandoning Square all together.  We are growing faster than it is for some reason.

No updates on this at this time in regards to SKU. However you may find many Vendor related features available with Square for Retail I invite you to Try it out for free and see if it meets your expectations.

I will pass your feedback over to our product team for their visibility and consideration when working on future updates @_Brandon_

We were looking in to that the other day.  It's certainly cheaper than the other software that we are looking at to replace Square, but it's a very small step towards all of the things we need (most of which the other software offers).  A lot of our decision will depend on what WooCommerce does with it's coming update. If we can get better functionality between the website and in stores it will be a lot easier to want to hang on to Square.

Fingers crossed here then @_Brandon_! We are also working on a lot of new features for our Square for Retail service.

If you like trying out new stuff and test drive features before they are released I would like to invite you to our Square Beta Community. From there you will be able to apply to participate and provide feedback to our product teams on new features and services coming to Square soon.

If I had more time I would love to be in the beta program. Unfortunately I'm working about 15 hours a day 7 days a week most of the time.

Back to my dilemma. Something I was thinking of adding was a rewards program. Any thoughts on if the Square loyalty program would work okay with my proposed system?

@_Brandon_ ;

Here is a work around for you;

You could export your ITEMS csv file into Excel, or a spreadsheet and sort the items total quantity by Low to High.

Now if you have Excel you could use the Power Query function or Power BI applications in Excel to do routine functions automatically.  So on your spreadsheet you could get the data sorted by category, item names, quantity if under X amount etc.  I found Power Query function or Power BI applications to be helpful for organizing my Square CSV files to automatically set them up to import to QuickBooks Desktop.
