Our restaurant is large volume, fine-dining and the details screen is important to our flow of service. Training everyone who creates items on the back end to toggle off the "Skip Items Details Screen" (I think a different language for this was used not too long ago) has been difficult and it slows down service/creates some confusion in the front. Also just annoying to do every time, and easy to miss since you have to scroll down to the option.
Is there a way to make it so that we have to manually toggle ON that option instead of it always being so that we have to toggle it OFF?
Thanks!
Hi @Vamp, thanks for posting !
I apologise for the delayed response here.
This feature is enabled by default when creating new items. However, I have reached out to our Product team to confirm whether there is a way to automatically disable it for future items created, or if this would be a feature request. I'll get back to you once I receive an update.
Thank you for your patience 🙂.
Thanks for bearing with me here @Vamp.
Our Product team confirmed that automatically disabling the "Skip Details Screen" feature would be a feature request (having to manually toggle it on). It is automatically set as enabled for the moment.
I understand how this would benefit sellers like yourself who run busy restaurants, and I would suggest filing a feature request on our Ideate page.
The workaround would be to use our Import/Export tool to disable this feature on all your items in bulk. To get started:
We provide more information about editing items in bulk on this Support Center article.
I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have further questions.
We use Square for Restaurants and NEED to see details before adding the item. I don't recall this ever defaulting to SKIP. It creates a lot more work for us to manually uncheck the Skip Item Details button
Lou,
That is a WHOLE LOT OF WORK when square should EASILY make it an option to toggle off automatically.
Has there been any fixes to this since?
