Is there a way to sync inventory across multiple locations?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: inventory options.

I operate a salon business along with a beauty supply store in the same location. My question is regarding inventory management. Instead of having to go into each location separately to adjust inventory, could you enable an option that allows inventory updates to be made once and applied to both areas? This would greatly streamline the process and reduce the need for individual adjustments each time.

While Square doesn't currently offer automatic inventory synchronization between locations, there are a couple of options that might help streamline your inventory management process:

Option 1: Transfer Stock Between Locations

You can move inventory instantly from one location to another using the stock transfer feature:

1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Items & services (or Items & menus or Items & inventory) > Items > Item library
2. Click Actions > Transfer Stock
3. Select both the source and destination locations
4. Choose the items to transfer and enter the transfer quantity (be sure to check current stock levels)
5. Click ( ... ) > Transfer Instantly

This could be useful if you receive all inventory at one location first. For example, you could add 40 units of stock for an item to Location A, then transfer 20 units to Location B.

Option 2: Adjust Inventory Levels In Bulk

The Bulk Import tool allows you to update inventory quantities across both locations in bulk:

1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Items & services (or Items & menus or Items & inventory) > Items > Item library
2. Click Actions > Export Library
3. In the exported report, update your "New quantity" values for each location
4. Save the Excel (.xlsx) or CSV (.csv) file to your computer
5. Return to the Item library and click Actions > Import Library
6. Upload your saved file and follow the prompts to complete the import

While these options can help streamline your current workflow, I understand they don't fully address your request for quick simultaneous inventory updates across locations.
