Is there a way to comp alcohol, but still pay the liquor tax on it?

If we buy a customer a beer, for example, is there any way to keep the liquor taxes on the transaction when we're comping it, so those are submitted? Or is there some other way restaurants handle this kind of thing?

Thanks for your inquiry, you will not be able to accomplish this. Our taxes are at the setup at the item level so if you comp the item then the tax gets deducted to $0. Is there any particular reason why you are needing this? I would love to get more insight.  If you need to know how much taxes to pay for those comps you can look at their Comp report in the Dashboard. You can filter the report by the item and manually calculate the % of taxes that would have normally been applied.
