Is there a way to automatically charge a fee for credit card customers?

My last credit card company had it set to automatically charge the customer a service fee for using a card. Is this something that can be done in Square?

There’s not a way to set an automatic fee for credit cards. The way most people do it is to offer a discount for cash transactions and add the processing fee into the item pricing. Honestly though I personally don’t do it that way in my shop. The fee is just a cost of doing business and it’s a tax deduction. Customers have mentioned plenty of times that they like the fact I don’t add a separate fee for them to use a card to pay and shop with me because of that fact. Of course I don’t tell them the 2.72% is factored into the item pricing
