I was told there is a bug in the Retail app causing cash drawer to not open. Why does Square status say everything is functional? I am guessing if they showed us the real story the status would be in a state of always broken. Mark me as frustrated

I have not seen reports of this issue, but want to make sure this gets addressed. What retail app version are you on? Can you provide a video of the issue?

I was informed this is not a Bug but as designed. I do not understand the Logic of the delay. The cash Drawer does open immediately after taping the Type of Receipt, and the New Sale, 2 additional steps before the Drawer will open. Unlike the previous version when you entered the $ amount and the the Drawer automatically opened right away. Then you could ask the customer if they wanted a receipt and what type of receipt (email, Text, or Printed) .
Now if the customer is not found by Square, and want an email or Text receipt your standing with the customers $$ trying to enter their # or Email just to make change. This slows everything down and gets our customers annoyed along with us.
So I also would like to know now if this is a Bug or was it Designed this way to slow things down?
Was told it is a bug. It has been address in an update this morning, version 6.41.3. Seems to work.

I just added the Update, and my drawer is still delayed. Meaning after putting in the cash amount or selecting the cash amount it still took 6 seconds for the drawer to open. This is alot better than the previous version, of having to tap other areas.
