Mine: When I do modifier customization and their are upcharges for the modifiers and they are preselected..when I take them off in the restaurants app...THE PRICE DOESNT COME OFF!!!!!!
This doesn't happen in the point of sale app, only restaurants app....

@_Violet HAHA you are doing an "End Around" play. That is exactly what I am going for here. I wanted to put this out there and distill these into a simple list that the product team could see and maybe some of these can be turned into "fixd already" and some could be "fixd Soon" etc. etc. Thank you so much though, I love this community!.

@Donnie-M You’re making me choose between my top TWO gripes. I guess I’ll comply, but I’ll grumble about it while I’m doing it. 🤣. Before I do, I’m going to say that I find the new and improved Restaurants experience to be BY FAR HANDS DOWN the best of the Square POS experiences. Of course, I was heavily involved in the redesign betas so I’m biased about the final product. Ok, now that I’m done brown-nosing….
My gripe has to do with modifier sets. The Restaurants experience has two deficiencies in this area:

After sooo many years of requests and still waiting…
no capability of splitting an item between 2 or more checks.
guests “can we split this appetizer between the 2+ million of us?” 🤦🏻♂️
@makedonas I might be wrong, but I think I saw this somewhere (maybe in testing) where you can split check item costs between tickets....I'll have to do my research.. But yes, that is a good "gripe". I think sometimes we are a little trepidatious to ask for "negative" feedback specifically. We like to survey and and sanitize the terms to "feedback" "suggestions" "improvements", but I am different, I like to encourage that direct feedback and by labeling it for what it is, it brings these things to the forefront.
Yea this is a pain too for especially sit down restaurants.
Our F&B director really doesn't like the ordering of Square Modifiers, similar workarounds have been done by us. Whats even crazier, Square syncs to one of our third parties POS system where we can do it lol

@Headpinz Yes, I have seen that for years, OMG the work arounds I used to do with ASCII character ordering and putting a little z in front of names like "zBurger Toppings" would put that one at the end. Pretty much you can fix everything in the point of sale app now, but restaurants still has the old truncated rules and priorities.
I always presented it as scripted ordering, the system walks the cashier through the questions so nothing is missed. I hate writing notes, because people don't read tickets all the way to the bottom.
It is better, I think the last thing is just being able to order things on tickets. Like toppings on a burger should go down in the order you build it.

@TheRealChipA OMG, you are preaching it and don't stop. I have a printout of the logical order for the modifiers for the square for restaurants. I am not gonna lie it is "old school" square modifiers before they improved them in the point of sale app. Now, I had plenty of work arounds like using "1. Sandwich Toppings" "2.Protien Choice" to force the system to alphabetize the choices in order that I wanted them to appear. I knew the system runs numbers and by a-z, so I even had one that said: "z. Sandwich Extras" that always appeared last.
and I agree the new app version is a big improvement and I appreciate the work square is putting into it!
Before they had secondary category options, all of my categores had numbers or alpabet in front.
