We are a non-profit and we will have a holiday party.
Attendees must pay for their own drinks via square.
How do I set up a fixed cost per drink for:
Wine
Beer
Cocktails
and soft drinks?
So much thanks
Hi @Porsche911, welcome to Square!
Certainly! Here’s how you can set up fixed prices for different drinks during your event with Square:
1. Create individual items in your Square Dashboard or Point of Sale app for each drink type: Wine, Beer, Cocktails, and Soft Drinks.
2. Set the price for each item to the fixed cost you want to charge during your happy hour.
If prices will change after happy hour, you can either:
1. Manually adjust prices in your item library before and after the event, or
2. Create a separate “Happy Hour” item set with the discounted prices to use only during the event.
Since attendees will pay directly via Square, you can ring up each drink as its own item with the set price when they order. If you want to make it quicker for your staff, you can organise these items into a category or favourites list in the app.
I hope this helps you get started! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Laurie,
We’re in Virginia and we appreciate your response!!!
One more Q:
We need to charge a flat 23%
for the venues service charge. How do we do this?
So Much Thanks,
Jonathan
My pleasure, @Porsche911! Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you.
If you need to apply a service charge to help cover operational or overhead costs, you can follow the steps in our online guide to set that up depending on your needs. 🙂
