I want to make it so only management staff have the ability to issue a payout out of the cash drawer. Right now, that ability is tied to the "close cash drawer" function (as far as I can tell). I need to make it so that no one can issue a payout from the drawer.
Is that possible? Where do those permissions exist?

Cash Management settings in regard to Payouts should be tied to the Cash Management permission on your Online Dashboard. To navigate there, complete the following:
While editing this Permission, you will be given an option to enable this role to open the Cash Drawer outside of a transaction occurring.
Let me know if this solves the issue for you! I want to make sure you are taken care of.

I have this box unchecked for our team permissions but members with that permission set are still able to pay in and pay out.
Sorry for any confusion, but if you have the permissions checked for your team members to view cash drawer reports they are also allowed to edit those reports by closing and opening the cash drawer. There are a few other permissions you can restrict if you want your employees to close and open cash drawers blindly (this helps ensure team honesty), but in order for them to successfully close a cash drawer they will need to be able to edit paid in/out.

Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂
If employees can do cash payouts on a daily basis then there should be a long term ability for tracking them-too hard to look up each cash drawer report to find the payouts. There should be a way to do an annual cash payout report ( or weekly or monthly) of every one with details for each one.
And its really sloppy accounting-you can miss expensing out the cash payouts since they are so hard to track.
